Garden of the Gods Winter Couples Session

You know when people say, “life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans”? Well, I couldn’t possibly agree more with that very sentiment. If you’re new to the blog, my husband and I relocated to Colorado Springs from the Midwest late last year. Now that we are a Colorado Wedding Photography and Videography team, we have been lucky enough to find a beautiful sense of community in a new place. Which leads me to when I was blessed enough to meet Abbie (but I’ll get into that)! I was stoked to explore and photograph Abbie and Jonathan’s Garden of the Gods Winter Couples Session.

I first met Abbie when I started coaching alongside her at Colorado Juniors Volleyball. Abbie is a retired professional international volleyball player (and yes, I still fan girl over that). She is one of the kindest, most driven gals I’ve met and it’s just been such a blessing to have her friendship. When I learned that Abbie and her boyfriend (Jonathan) had recently adopted puppy, I just knew that we had to head to the Garden of the Gods for a couples session. As a dog mom myself, I know how important and special the little moments with your pup are!

If you’ve never experienced the Garden of the Gods in the Winter, add it to your bucket list. Just when I thought the dramatic landscape couldn’t get anymore spectacular, the crisp white snow, bright red rocks, and deep green pine trees creates an astonishing contrast. Exploring Garden of the Gods with Abbie, Jonathan, and Murphy was an absolute dream. If you know me, you’ll know that where I go, my dog (Hoka) goes. My dog mama heart was just so full watching the pups romp around in the snow as we strolled the Perkins Central Garden Trail. Abbie and Jonathan were just as smitten snuggling up with Murphy.

A Snowy Colorado Couples Session

Taking the leap to move from Minnesota to Colorado was a huge (and kinda scary) one. But because of friends like Abbie, Jonathan, and Murphy, my little family feels so welcome and at home. This snowy Garden of the Gods Winter Couples Session was just the reminder I needed to know that we are exactly where we’re supposed to be.
