Engagement sessions can be personalized to you and your partner’s love and relationship! You don’t have to do a standard “let’s walk about in a field” photoshoot, it can be much more than that! And, that’s exactly what we did for Heather and Jake during our engagement session at Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis! We started the day together at Stella’s Fish Cafe (one of their favorite date spots and where they met) for drinks and then made our way to the Stone Arch Bridge! Urban Engagement Photos At Stone Arch Bridge In Minneapolis

The vibe of this entire day was incredible! Not only did we get some really unique industrial, urban vibes to the first part of their engagement session at Stella’s Fish Cafe but we also took stunning photos at The Stone Arch Bridge with the city views of Minneapolis. It was the perfect combination of casual and unique. Because we added in the personalized element to their engagement session every moment was so special and sweet. It’s like we were looking into their hearts.

Their vision for their engagement session was to focus solely on the surroundings and place! They love Minneapolis as it has played a large role in their love story. They wanted it to be the main backdrop and wanted a more urban vibe and incorporate places that mean the most to them! I think we definitely captured this! I love this engagement because it proves that you can do whatever your heart desires and have the best time doing it!

Heather & Jake’s Love Story

They met in Minneapolis and they first met at Stella's Fish Cafe which is why they wanted to incorporate that into their session. Both Jake and Heather were at Stella's with friends when eventually they each got separated from their groups. Jake struck up a convo with Heather asking if he could get her a rum and coke to which she obliged and as they got to chatting, they realized it was way too loud at Stella's (the place turns into a nightclub over the weekend) and he asked if she wanted to go somewhere else and talk.

Fast-forward a few years and they got engaged at Acadia National Park on the top of a mountain they climbed together with friends. Heather is scared of heights, so props to her for making it up the climb! Heather is more of a free spirit and extrovert whereas Jake is a bit more reserved and quiet but together they make a perfect pair. They LOVE the city and are always down for exploring a new brewery.

They are a beautiful couple and it was an honor to capture part of their love story in Minneapolis!
