Ice cream date engagement session in Duluth, MN
A couple of my favorite things (in no particular order) - Duluth, wildly in-love couples, ice cream, the beach. Combine all 4 and you’ve got the perfect mix of the sweetest day. Arissa and Nathan’s ice cream date engagement session in Duluth, MN took us from the ice cream shop to the beach and it couldn’t have been any sweeter.

I always love hearing the cute little “how we met” stories from my couples. Arissa and Nathan actually met in typical “millennial fashion” way - via Tinder. Their first date was a hike at Whitewater State Park, and the rest is pretty much history! They did long distance for about a year + a half before both moving to Fox City, Wisconsin to be closer to Arissa’s family. Now, they are a house divide (1 Packers fan + 1 Vikings fan). Funnily enough, they actually got engaged on New Years day before heading to the Viking vs. Packers game!
It felt like a long time coming before we could actually take Arissa and Nathan’s engagement photos because Nathan is a CPA. Tax season + wedding planning are probably not the best match! 😅 But their sweet day finally arrived and they decided on Duluth for their photos. Neither of them had spent much time in Duluth growing up, so it was fun to make a date day out of it.
We began their late Spring engagement session at Love Creamery ice cream shop along Canal Park. Who wouldn’t want an ice cream date as part of their engagement session!? Most couples wait until after their photos before getting ice cream, but I loved that we made it part of their session. It really was the perfect treat for the warm weather we enjoyed along the lake. After getting our sugar rush, we headed across the Aerial Lift Bridge to Park Point Beach. Arissa and Nathan’s outfits were perfect for the long beach grass, blue water, and sand dunes.
We were even able to get some photos with their sweet pup, Bear, thanks to Arissa’s parents for bringing him! If you’ve followed along for awhile, you know that Chuck and I are dog obsessed. So yes, please, bring your dog to your engagement session! 😉

It was such an honor being able to capture Arissa and Nathan’s ice cream date engagement session in Duluth, MN. They are one of those couples that just work. Their personalities are so complimentary to one another, and we couldn’t be happier for them! We can’t wait to document their wedding day in October!!
