Duluth, Minnesota Summer Elopement at Park Point
Hello, friends! It’s been a hot minute since we’ve hopped onto our blog. To say we’ve missed sharing our work, passions, and souls would be an understatement. If you missed it on the ‘Gram (@chuckandshiloh), we recently relocated to Colorado Springs and have been loving our new neck of the woods. But enough of that! Today, I couldn’t be more stoked to be bringing Brittaney and Andrew’s Duluth, Minnesota summer elopement at Park Point to the blog. There was no shortage of intentionality and emotion throughout their day; let’s get into it, shall we!?
Duluth, Minnesota Elopement
Brittaney and Andrew traveled to Duluth, Minnesota to tie the knot surrounded by their closest people along the beach of Lake Superior. It truly couldn’t have been more perfect. Their June wedding day began at a local Airbnb that was a converted garage (Chuck and I were obsessed). Brittaney and Andrew spent the morning getting ready with their son, Decker, and Brittaney’s sister. From exchanging heartfelt gifts and letters, to an intimate first look with Decker, I was a puddle of emotion. After soaking up a low-key morning, we headed to Lester Park for a short hike and bridal portraits. One of my favorite parts of an elopement is the flexibility and freedom to make your day exactly how you want. Decker and Andrew skipped rocks on the water while I shot individual portraits of Brittaney. Their wedding day timeline allowed for ample time for moments exactly like that, which is really what makes an elopement so dang special.
Once we wrapped up portraits at Lester Park, we headed down to Park Point for Brittaney and Andrew’s beach front intimate wedding in front of their closest people. As if I hadn’t shed enough tears, they exchanged personal vows (including some to Decker). As soon as I pulled myself together following communion, I had the honor of pronouncing Brittaney and Andrew as husband and wife! Fun fact: Chuck and I are both ordained; we are able to sign as a witness, minister(s), and take the responsibility of mailing in the marriage license off our couples’ shoulders. Before heading to Bent Paddle Brewing for a little celebration, we snapped a few family/friends photos along the lake, splashed around, and just enjoyed the most perfect summer elopement.
As I mentioned above, I absolutely love the flexibility and freedom that an elopement provides to couples. Brittaney and Andrew were able to have the elopement of their dreams, without sacrificing on a celebration! Just a month after they tied the knot, they hosted a reception back at their hometown in Wausau, Wisconsin that Chuck and I were lucky enough to be able to attend. Besides watching so much love and joy surrounding the newlyweds, the highlight of the afternoon was the surprise slideshow Andrew put together for Brittaney. (And yes, the tears commenced yet again from me 😅.)
