Breathtaking Maroon Bells Fall Engagement Session in Aspen, Colorado
Karina and Andrew’s fall engagement session at Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado, was one of those moments that’s hard to put into words. This destination had been on Chuck’s and my bucket list for as long as we could remember, so you can imagine how blown away we were to experience it alongside these two—during autumn, no less. Honestly, it felt like Bob Ross himself had painted the brilliant foliage.
Maroon Bells Engagement Photos in Aspen, Colorado
The couple traveled all the way from Madison, Wisconsin, for their dreamy fall photos among Aspen's iconic Maroon Bells. The aspen trees were at their peak, with vibrant oranges, mustard yellows, and deep greens blanketing the landscape, contrasting beautifully with the snow-dusted mountain peaks. Because it was shoulder season in Aspen, we had the luxury of soaking in the incredible views without the crowds.
But the scenery wasn’t the only star of the day—Karina and Andrew’s Corgi, Rodger, definitely stole the show. Chuck and I have a soft spot for couples’ furry friends (our pup, Hoka, often joins us for the ride), so we loved that Rodger was part of the adventure. We spent nearly two hours exploring the main loop with our pups, taking in the beauty from every angle.
Red Rock Canyon Open Space Sunrise Engagement Session
The next morning, we met up for a sunrise session at Red Rock Canyon Open Space in Colorado Springs. While all three of Karina and Andrew’s outfits were on point, I especially adored their second look for the sunrise shoot. Karina wore a classic pair of mom jeans with a white bell-sleeve blouse, while Andrew paired jeans with a cozy maroon sweater. Their outfits perfectly complemented the natural palette of the open fields. While Rodger sat out the sunrise session, it was such a joy to photograph Karina and Andrew as they frolicked in the golden morning light.
Looking back, Karina and Andrew’s Maroon Bells engagement session was everything I’d hoped it would be. The rugged mountain views, the glassy Maroon Lake reflecting the aspen trees—it’s a memory I’ll never forget. And waking up the next morning to capture more of Colorado’s stunning landscapes alongside this sweet couple was the perfect reminder of just how grateful I am to do what I love.
